For the Free2Play martial arts MMO Swordsman Online, the first expansion is on the horizon. The new zones are expected to be based on the geography of China. A level cap increase is also planned.
In an interview with mmorpg.com, Wang Peng, the Overseas Development Manager of Swordsman Online, discussed details of the planned expansion. There will be a level cap increase, new raids, dungeons, PvP modes, and gear systems. For newcomers, it will become easier to catch up with the veterans, the leveling curve will be adjusted.
The new expansion will lead players north of the Great Wall of China into the steppes and prairies. In designing the zones, inspiration was drawn from the Gobi Desert and the Mongolian Steppe. According to Peng, Swordsman Online places great importance on creating a symbiosis of fantasy and reality.
In terms of gameplay, the role of companions will be revised to make them more useful in PvP. Additionally, with the “Celestial Weapons,” a new weapon class will be introduced, which will be hard to obtain but worth the effort.
A beta phase for the expansion is not planned, but the Twitch channel will showcase some of the new content in October.
