The Polish developer studio Game Island has presented a new survival game. Some players are already comparing it to a popular horror game. We introduce you to the title, here you can watch the announcement trailer:
What kind of game is this? The new survival game by Game Island is called “Serum” – a horror adventure that makes you dependent on a green liquid. This liquid also gives the title its name.
In Serum, the liquid is crucial. You need to inject it into your character regularly, or else he will die, as our colleagues from GameStar.de learned from the developers.
What does the trailer show? The trailer for Serum shows a creepy landscape (minute 00:02 to 00:14), where the player is attacked by a dog-like monster (around minute 00:20). We also catch a first glimpse of the injection of the serum (minute 00:06).
“The Evil Ending of Chernobylite”
What do players say about the trailer? The trailer for Serum also appeared on the YouTube channel of the gaming magazine IGN. There, numerous players expressed their first impressions of the trailer. Many compared it to the popular horror game Chernobylite, which has 83% positive reviews on Steam. But other games like Metro and Fallout were also mentioned.

What makes Serum special? Your task in Serum is not only to ensure your survival but also to find out more about the mysterious liquid. You are in a constant race against time, as you may run out of the liquid. Then you need to find supplies.
New serum can be found in certain locations in the hostile environment of the horror title. However, this world is as deadly as the lack of injection of the green liquid.
You must fight against various creatures to survive and arm yourself. In addition to the usual melee and ranged weapons, there are also so-called “serum-controlled weapons” in Serum.
But the serum is not only positive and can also change your character’s body.

What do we know about the game’s release? Currently, no release date is known, but Serum can already be added to the wishlist on Steam. A release before 2023 is currently not expected.
Additionally, there is currently no information regarding a potential console release or a release via Epic Games Store. So far, Serum is exclusively available on Steam.
Serum is published by the German publisher Toplitz Productions, which has more survival games on its release list for 2022. One of them is Sengoku-Dynasty, which leads players to feudal Japan and allows them to build their own village there.
