The summer time has begun. This means not only holidays and thus a lot of time but also a gaping summer hole in many areas.
Life in the Mein-MMO editorial office
The last days in the world operations base of Mein-MMO.de looked relatively relaxed. While Schuhmann and I drifted in the pool (he on a small boat, I in my swim ring), the boss served us cool drinks with umbrellas and straws in a waiter outfit. “Don’t you want to write something again?”, he asked while handing us pieces of watermelon that he had of course pitted beforehand (Strange Cortyn, you’re always too hot…And I will never play RPG again! – Note from the boss). We giggled amused after we had put him in his place with some disapproving looks and turned back to the important things in life. Since then, Dawid is back in the kitchen working on the 5-course dinner for the staff, after all, the big summer party on the company’s bill is tonight. If he puts in the effort, he can taste it too (the lavish summer party in Dubai, the culinary highlight on the Cote d’Azur and all the organic fruit that was prepared and imported from Brazil will of course be deducted from your salary. Please read the fine print 🙂 My new Porsche looks quite nice too. – Note from the boss).
Fun for a moment aside. Summer is traditionally a bit quieter in all areas, which, of course, will inevitably be reflected in the density of news to report. For this reason, I find myself in the fairly comfortable position of being able to write more extensively about some topics in columns, articles, and reports in the coming weeks, what would otherwise lack time.
What I can – and what I can’t
And with that, we come to you: What would you like to read? Before you now demand “Destiny!” in the comments by the hundreds, I’m giving you a few restrictions. The topics must of course somehow fit my (Hello, Cortyn, that’s me!) and my previous responsibilities. I can hardly write about games I have no clue about (Well, I could – but who wants that?). By now, you generally know where my interests and thus also my areas of expertise lie: Heroes of the Storm, WildStar, SMITE, World of Warcraft, Evolve, HearthStone, Overwatch, Anime and Roleplay.
Bring on your wishes!
In the areas mentioned above, pretty much anything is possible.
- Guides to specific heroes in Heroes of the Storm? No problem, you surely wanted to know how to be a good Abathur!
- Lore articles about specific characters from Warcraft? I could shower you with information until the next summer arrives!
- Anecdotes from the everyday life of roleplay? Feasible, as the encounters in the RP-Stormwind offer material for many stories!
- A list of the best animes from last spring for moments when you don’t want to play? (Leave the period, Schuhmann. Leave. It. Standing.)
The cruel and unvarnished truth about the goings-on at Mein-MMO that cause the editors to lie in the eternal conflict of “Good” versus “Evil”? Would be a challenge.- Or should I voluntarily and gladly dive into an MMO I don’t know yet? (And no, Schuhmann did not add that point afterward. – Note from the editor-in-chief.)
