Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League faced a lot of flak upon its release in February 2024. Good for you: This means you can secure a playable superhero blockbuster for just a few euros on Steam that is better than its reputation.
What do I need to know about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? The action title comes from the creators of the popular Batman: Arkham series: Rocksteady Studios. Accordingly, many fans had high expectations for the new “superhero” adventure at an AAA level.
Instead of expanding the strengths of the Batman titles to the Suicide Squad, the people in charge at publisher Warner Bros. had the idea to turn the third-person shooter into a kind of service game with looting and leveling, online features, microtransactions, and an endgame.
Similar to Marvel’s Avengers by Crystal Dynamics (also known for strong single-player experiences like the Tomb Raider trilogy), the plan backfired. The seasonal endgame feels uninspired and generic, the missions repeat too quickly, and the team AI fails.

Better than its reputation
So how good is Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League? On metacritic.com, the game receives an average score of only 60 to 63, depending on the platform, due to these and other weaknesses. A disastrous result for an AAA game. The user score is even just 3.4. On Steam, the game is rated as “Mixed,” with only 66 percent positive reviews.
The reviews from colleagues at gamestar.de and gamepro.de also show that not everything is bad. MyMMO editor Nico Hernes even had a really good time: I completed the new DC game: Not a new Batman, but a fun loot shooter.
The approximately 12-hour-long, partly well-staged story campaign can be enjoyable. Thanks to the optional co-op mode, even with up to three friends.
In terms of gameplay, the battles with the four playable heroes and the fast movement through the game world particularly shine. All of these are valid reasons to check out Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. At least, if the price is right.
How much does it cost? Good question. Currently, you can get the standard version on Steam for just 3.49 euros. Every coffee at Starbucks costs more. The Digital Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, currently costs 4.99 euros on Steam.
In both cases, this is a discount of 95 percent. Considering how young the game is, this might be one of the most drastic price reductions in gaming history.
