A “Game Guide” from the store chain GameStop has apparently leaked and thus almost all relevant information about Destiny 2 is online. A game guide is a type of “special issue” that lists information to assist players.
Since midnight, previously secret information about Destiny 2 has been circulating in the US forum Reddit. There is information about the Exotics, subclasses, the vendors that will return – and much more.
Someone has taken pictures of the game guide in a James Bond-style with a smartphone and uploaded the images to imgur.
Just in the last few days, dataminers have likely dissected the PC version and found and analyzed text passages and voicelines.
Therefore, there is already detailed information about the story and plot of Destiny 2. On Reddit, people who haven’t played Destiny 2 for even a minute are discussing the intricacies of the endgame.
It was kept secret for so long, now everything is out
This is a remarkable turn of events because Bungie has managed to close almost all leaks in recent years and keep the information tightly sealed. The times of leaks seemed to be over, when a Japanese dataminer gained almost legendary status by being able to “look into the future.” For Destiny, everything was secure.
When gameplay from the EDZ was revealed just a week ago, only a few hours before an embargo dropped, it was already an exception, and Activision has painstakingly tried to remove the video from all its mirrors.
Now the worst-case scenario has occurred: the leak armageddon.
How should one deal with this?
Those who are sensitive to spoilers should probably bury themselves until the release of Destiny 2. It can be assumed that media and YouTubers will exploit this “gold mine” heavily in the next few days leading up to the release.
Epic videos of the best Destiny 2 Exotics are likely already being created and rendered for hours.
