The well-known Twitch streamer summit1g has done a huge favor for a smaller streamer colleague. He thanks him, saying that it has changed his life.
Here’s what happened: summit1g streams regularly on Twitch with an average of 23,500 viewers (via sullygnome). On January 4, however, the streamer was late and let his viewers on Twitch know that he wanted to sleep for about another hour before going live. In the meantime, he suggested that his fans check out DiamondJamz’s channel.
DiamondJamz is a small Twitch channel that had an average of 39 viewers. Immediately, some fans dropped by the small streamer and left a follow. DiamondJamz was so touched that he even shed tears.
The small streamer says: “This is changing my life”
Here you can see the reaction: We embed one of several clips available on DiamondJamz’s channel surrounding this topic:
The streamer is visibly touched and promises summit1g that he will now appoint him as a mod. Furthermore, he explains: “This is changing my life. I have been streaming for 6 years and have been waiting for my big breakthrough. I have a 7-year-old son for whom I work so hard to provide a good future.”
Meanwhile, more and more subscribers are coming in, leaving a follow on the channel. DiamondJamz fights back tears, wiping them from his face repeatedly.
Afterward, it even goes further, and some viewers donate money to the small streamer. The viewers tell him that his reactions have sweetened their day. In return, DiamondJamz replies that the viewers have sweetened his day.
What’s the situation now with DiamondJamz? Currently, the streamer has 12,600 followers. The stream promoted by summit1g peaked at 345 viewers.
It remains to be seen whether he can retain the newly gained viewers on his channel or if this is just a one-time event.
That’s why this is so exciting: There are some huge streamers on Twitch, including summit1g. They have an enormous influence on the scene and can move masses.
This is yet another example of what a small call to action can achieve.
However, there are also examples where negative news can cause a real hype on Twitch. A good example is the ban of Missbehavin. She showed herself naked on Twitch and caused a huge wave of outrage. Even the German streamer MontanaBlack commented on it.
In the end, however, Missbehavin actually won on Twitch. She increased her followers from 16,000 to 98,000 followers in just a few days:
