In January 2024, the first major game was released: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. However, instead of becoming a lasting service hit, the game turned into a flop with few players on Steam. Nevertheless, the studio Rocksteady steadily provided new content throughout 2024. However, this will end in 2025. But there is still some good news.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League had a tough start. Fans of the studio Rocksteady, which gained fame primarily through the Batman: Arkham series, were not impressed by the idea of a service loot shooter in this universe.
The player numbers were also quite disappointing for a service game. The peak on Steam was only 13,459 concurrent players. Currently, there are about 500 players in the game, according to SteamDB, with a discount in recent weeks sparking small upswings.
Throughout 2024, Rocksteady steadily offered new content in the form of seasons, including new characters and new missions. Now, with Season 4, the last new character will be introduced, and then it’s over. But there is still good news: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will remain playable.

No new content, but the game remains
Which playable villain is coming to the game? On the official game website, all new content for Season 4 of the game has been announced. The big highlight is again the new playable character. After Mrs. Freeze, Deathstroke, a popular DC villain, is coming next. In the comics, the mercenary often battled against Batman or the Teen Titans.
As of today, December 10, 2024, you can unlock the new character and then play. Along with him comes a new area visually inspired by the Middle Ages. Additionally, there will be new weapons and equipment items.
In January 2025, the last content update will come with Episode 8, and support will also end. The game will remain online for now and will feature all previously released content. However, a good announcement is that there will be an offline mode where all content can be played without an internet connection.
This way, the game is likely spared the fate of The Crew. In that racing game, the servers have been shut down since April 2024, making it unplayable as there is no offline mode.
For many fans, the game about Suicide Squad was a big disappointment, as they had hoped for a new Arkham game. However, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was not such a bad game.
