The mobile MMORPG Lineage2M has caused a lot of buzz in South Korea and is now set to arrive in the West. An open beta phase offers a glimpse into the game and its PC-mobile hybrid system.
What makes the game special? Lineage2M offers elements such as:
- 6 different classes with numerous subclasses
- The collection and leveling of various weapons
- Exploration of an open world
- World bosses
- A guild system
- Large open-world battles with over 10,000 players
- The absence of loading screens
It also impresses with stunning visuals that you wouldn’t typically expect from mobile games. The developers refer to “4K Ultra HD 3D” environments.
A special highlight is the so-called “Purple” system, which transitions Lineage2M from a pure mobile game to a cross-platform MMORPG that can also be played on PC.
On PC, players can take advantage of enhanced graphics and features such as keyboard and mouse support.
A trailer shows what the gameplay looks like:
How successful has the game been so far: Lineage 2M was released in 2019 in South Korea and generated hype even before its release. Apparently, it lived up to expectations: the developer NCSoft reported a record quarter after the release, largely due to the successful Lineage2M release.
This success led to the decision to bring the game to the West. The open beta now marks the next step.
What’s in the Lineage2M Beta
How long will the beta run? The open beta phase is set to last until November 7 in 29 Western countries. During the beta, only Korean and English will be available as languages, with plans to add German, Spanish, French, Russian, and Polish at a later date.
Which platforms are supported? You can download the game for iOS and Android. You can also play on Windows PCs through Purple.
What’s included in the beta? Each account can create and try out up to 3 characters. You are free to explore the world of Aden – including challenging 22 bosses.
During the beta, there will be increased drop rates and XP boosts to give players a comprehensive impression of the game. However, the game progress will be deleted after the beta, so you won’t be able to pick up right where you left off at launch.
However, there will be some rewards for beta participants that will be distributed at the official launch.
