This is the gag: Above the Anthem subreddit (197,000 subscribers) is currently the title image of The Division 2.
The moderators give the friendly reminder that all moderation is handed over to the official Artificial Intelligence of Anthem, to Clippy – presumably a nod to the rumors about the evil loot AI of Anthem.
The title line has been changed to “Tom Clancy’s The Division 2”.
Above the subreddit of The Division (258,000 subscribers), the text “Anthem” can be seen. Here, the description has been changed to “Fuck it. We’re Anthem now.”
The title line used here is: つ ◕◕ ༽つ summon loot ༼ つ ◕◕ ༽つ – presumably a reference to the fact that Anthem suffers from loot poverty. This aims to summon good drops.
This is how players are reacting: They take it with humor and play along.
For example, one user at Anthem is excited about the action: It’s great that both communities are collaborating to have fun together.
One person at The Division 2 says: “I had to close about 30 tabs before I noticed it.” Others are equally confused by the change – if you pay attention to the styles, it can be confusing. At The Division 2, they also consider it a successful joke.
