The Twitch streamer Michael “shroud” Grzesiek was probably the star of the multiplayer reveal of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. A 2vs1 play by the shooter specialist triggered frustration in his opponent and excitement in the studio.
What an event was that? On Thursday evening, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare showcased its multiplayer mode in a big reveal. But it wasn’t just a tech demo, a developer stream, or a video and then it was over: No, today Activision also does this through influencers.
Activision gathered some well-known Twitch streamers and YouTubers, who had a bit of a banter beforehand, in one room and let them play the new Call of Duty. They were probably hoping to see a play like the one from Shroud.
With 10 HP against 2 opponents
This was Shroud’s play: The situation doesn’t look good for Shroud. He is in a 2vs2 that is completely against him and his team. Shroud’s partner, Skadoodle, is already dead, and Shroud himself is down to 10 HP. And in the “Gunfight mode” HP does not regenerate just like that.
Actually, the situation looks quite bleak. But within moments, Shroud can turn the match around, eliminate both opponents cleanly, and stands as the winner:
- He catches Jericho cold from behind in a corridor and takes him down
- The Twitch star then secures the height advantage and takes out the second opponent practically out of nowhere, spotting him and immediately with a clean “No Scope” kill

Shroud initially screams as he falls to 10 HP. But then he triumphs and visibly enjoys the reaction and the shout from Jericho.
The Twitch clip has now received over 90,000 views and certainly contributes to the legend of Shroud, who was even recognized by a doctor who was supposed to operate on him.
The official casters of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare also comment on Shroud’s 2 kills with excitement.
