The first banners since the launch of patch 2.2 from Genshin Impact are coming to an end. Leakers have now discovered which 4-star characters are waiting for you with Hu Tao and which 5-star weapons are coming.
On November 2, the rerun of Hu Tao will be released. With the new character banners, weapons banners are also released, containing 2 different 5-star weapons each time.
Update from October 31, 2021: The leakers were right. Genshin Impact has officially introduced the upcoming banners today.
The character banner with Hu Tao as the event character looks like this:

Homa Staff and Last Breath as strong weapons
Why is the Homa Staff strong? The Homa Staff has a strong effect that gives you an attack boost of 0.8% of the wielder’s maximum health points (HP). Additionally, the attack increases by another 1% of the maximum HP when your character has less than 50% of their HP.
Furthermore, your HP will be increased by 20%, and the sub-stat includes critical damage, which you can enhance when you level up the weapon. Along with the Blackcliff Lance, the Homa Staff is the only spear that grants you additional critical damage.
Who should use the Homa Staff? All characters who attack with a spear can benefit from the Homa Staff, but there are heroes who particularly excel with it:
- Hu Tao, as her attack power scales with HP. Especially her special ability synergizes with this weapon, as it deals 50% more damage. You want to play Hu Tao with low HP. As the main DPS, she also benefits from the extra critical damage.
- Zhongli, if you want him to deal a bit more damage. His shield can protect him and other characters under 50% HP very well.
- Probably the new character Thoma, as his skills scale with HP and he can create a shield that protects him at low HP. This can also enhance his damage.
However, Hu Tao is the one who can best utilize the Homa Staff. The spear was made for her. You could also give the weapon to Xiao, but he loses HP when using his special ability. If he is sent into battle with low HP, this could lead to a quick K.O.
Why is the bow Last Breath strong? Last Breath allows you to collect 4 “Signs of Remembrance” which are then automatically used. They grant all team members 100 elemental mastery for 12 seconds and an attack boost of 20%. You can trigger this effect every 20 seconds.
Additionally, the bow provides you with 60 elemental mastery as a fixed stat, and it has a recharge rate as a sub-stat, which is useful for charging special abilities faster.
Who should use Last Breath? Especially sub-DPS and supports can benefit from the recharge rate, elemental mastery, and attack boost of Last Breath. These include:
- Fischl
- Sara
- Venti
- Amber
- Diona
You can perfectly utilize the seals and the buffs arising from them as support for your main DPS. The bow was specifically released for Venti.
Useful 4-star characters in Hu Tao’s banner
Why is Thoma useful? Thoma enters Genshin Impact as a new 4-star character through Hu Tao’s banner. As we reported in our article on patch 2.2, Thoma is rather a sub-DPS or supporter for your team. He pairs well with Hu Tao as he triggers the Pyro team buff with her, granting you 25% more attack.
Additionally, he can create a protective shield for Hu Tao, who ideally should always remain in the low HP range and can therefore make good use of the shield. Thoma and Hu Tao could become a really strong team.

Why is Sayu useful? Sayu is participating in an event banner for the second time and is a strong all-rounder. She can heal, trigger reliable swirling effects that weaken enemies, and deal solid damage.
If you already own her, you might aim for her 1st constellation. When the constellation is unlocked, her special ability can not only heal but also deal damage to enemies simultaneously. Before that, the ability has the rule that characters must have more than 70% of their HP before Sayu can attack with it.

- Specialty: Sub-DPS
Why is Diona useful? Diona is among the best supports in Genshin Impact. Even if you already own her a few times, it is worth unlocking her constellations up to level 6. Because then you unleash the full potential of the cat-girl.
Diona can grant you a protective shield and heal. Additionally, upon unlocking her 6th constellation, she provides more HP recovery and an elemental mastery boost of 200 points.

Hu Tao – One of the strongest Main DPS in the game
Hu Tao is a Pyro spear user and is considered one of the strongest Main DPS in the game. She has tremendous damage potential and can easily annihilate enemies all by herself. In our tier list, we have categorized her in the SS rank.
With heavy blows, her elemental and special abilities, she slices through enemies and can even heal herself. If you’re lucky enough to have the Homa Staff, a shielder, and good artifacts, she puts most other characters to shame.
If you already own Hu Tao and want to play actively, it might be worthwhile to pull for the Homa Staff for her or Thoma as a suitable shielder. Her 1st constellation is also incredibly useful, as she does not consume stamina for her hefty attacks after using her elemental ability.
If you are not currently actively saving for Gorou, Itto, or future characters, you can definitely benefit from the upcoming banners.
