An April Fool’s joke drives streamer and former Overwatch pro xQc crazy. Apparently, he doesn’t like embodying Reinhardt in the Overwatch chat and has a meltdown live on his Twitch stream.
This is how xQc freaks out: In a ranked match on Volskaya Industries, the former Dallas Fuel player’s xQc‘s team is currently executing the second attack. They barely manage to capture the first point, but fail at the second.
The problem is a Hanzo on the defenders’ side. He uses his Dragon Strike so well that xQc and his team’s last attack gets wiped out. They can’t reach the point in time and cannot capture it.
xQc is so annoyed by the opposing Hanzo that he writes several things in the chat and asks his own chat on Twitch. Apparently, this Hanzo is playing him “too well” for not knowing his name.
The problem is: xQc is playing with Reinhardt and because of Blizzard’s April Fool’s joke, everything xQc types in rage sounds just ridiculous.
The streamer’s temperament boils over, and he slams the table powerfully before turning the light back on in his room and acting as if nothing happened.
This is the effect of the April Fool’s joke: Just before xQc’s match, Blizzard activated the April Fool’s joke for 2019 in Overwatch. This causes Reinhardt players to write all texts in the general match chat as if they were “shouting.”
Every text is written in caps lock. Additionally, every sentence ends with three exclamation marks and an iconic saying like
- HEIDEBLITZ!!!
- HEILIGS BLECHLE!!!
- GOOD GERMAN WORKMANSHIP!!! (PRECISION GERMAN ENGINEERING!!!)
- GLEI SCHÄBBARDS!!!
The sentences only come when Reinhardt is played to better represent his hot-headed nature. However, it seems xQc couldn’t quite handle that.
What’s wrong with xQc? The former Overwatch pro Félix “xQc” Lengyel is known for such outbursts. After being ousted from the Overwatch League, he intended to never touch Overwatch again.
After some streams with other games, where sometimes his mother would sneak in and bring him “secretly” food, it seems Overwatch is the game he keeps returning to.
He himself stated in an earlier comment that he doesn’t blame himself for his behavior. He describes himself as a “child of the Twitch chat.”
