This streamer worked for 2000 days straight. Then he made the decision to finally take a day off and was overwhelmed by it.
Who is the streamer? CohhCarnage is a well-known face in the Twitch community. He has been streaming various games for many years. He is a variety streamer and therefore does not focus on a main game, but alternates between different titles.
For about five and a half years, he streamed every day on the TwitchTV platform. On most days for 6-8 hours daily. CohhCarnage plays games like Metro 2033, Fallout 76, Sekiro, Apex Legends, or Path of Exile.
On his Twitch channel, he currently has 1.1 million viewers (as of April 9). When he recently reached the milestone of 2000 streaming days without interruption, it was time for a little break. He took off on April 7.
The moderators of his chat left him a heartfelt message that appeared at the end of his 2000th streaming day in the stream:
“Hey Cohh, congratulations on your 2000 streamed days. Thank you for everything you do, Bossman. You bring people together. Even when your past self didn’t expect that.
You deserve all the success in your life.”
This message made the streamer cry.
Why did he end the “streak” after 2000 days?
There are 2 reasons for the end of his streaming challenge:
Reason 1: At the beginning of his streaming career, it was clear to CohhCarnage that you need a fixed schedule for viewers to have a reliable place to go. He was inspired by a big streamer and therefore started a 6-month challenge.
He then set new goals for himself repeatedly and has now achieved 2000 days. After this time, he had reached all the goals he set for the challenge.
Reason 2: CohhCarnage has changed over the past 5 years. He is now a father of 2 children. One is two years old, the other one month old. His life has changed accordingly.
He no longer needs the daily pressure to maintain this streaming challenge. He prefers to end it now after 2000 days without interruption, rather than work until he gets sick from it.
What’s next? He will not completely throw out his streaming schedule. His goal is still to stream daily. However, he is glad that he can take days off for his family. If there are free days, he wants to dedicate them to his family.
The streamer doesn’t know how to spend his day off
This is what Cohh says: A few hours before his day off began, the streamer wrote on Twitter:
“I … um … have no idea what I should do tomorrow. This is something new.”
On April 7 itself, he then tweeted something he probably didn’t see coming: “Good morning. Today I take a day off.”
After 2000 days, it’s probably a strange feeling not to work. How exactly he spent the day is unclear. He probably used the time for his family.
