The popular Twitch streamer Sebastian “Forsen” Fors (29) was banned from the streaming platform for a week. However, he was back after a day. Forsen claims he is totally innocent. The ban was due to his thick Swedish accent.
This is the ban: Forsen was banned from Twitch on September 10. No one really knew why.
On reddit, his fans had fun trolling people who asked about the reason for the ban. Forsen’s community is considered one of the most trolling communities on Twitch. They just love to mess with people. That’s their thing.
Forsen is a Swedish niche streamer who started with Starcraft and Hearthstone, but somehow his channel has shaped Twitch culture like few others. His community is legendary creative and can really annoy other streamers, as Dr Disrespect noticed. Some legendary emotes originated from Forsen’s channel. It’s not always rational there.
In any case, it was unclear for a long time what was behind the ban. Forsen had already been suspended from Twitch in May for insulting Russians in Valorant. It seemed that Twitch had him in their sights and that it could be serious.
However, after a day the ban was over and Forsen was back on air.
“Because of my silly Swedish accent”
This is what Forsen says about the ban: Back live on Twitch, Forsen was able to clarify the ban. He said Twitch had banned him for a week for “hate speech”. Apparently it was about a clip:
- In the clip, Forsen said in English “Fäääk it” – he meant that as “Fuck it”, which means “Forget it”
- Twitch heard “Faggot” here – that’s an English insult that offends homosexuals, and falls under the regulation for “hate speech”. For this, one gets banned.
Forsen attributed the misunderstanding to his “silly Swedish accent”
Forsen says about the ban:
“I was banned for hate speech for seven days. Twitch should be banned for making fun of my Swedish accent in a hateful way!”
Forsen
Forsen does not understand how the ban came about. It’s not just one person listening and deciding, but a whole group of moderators checks it when a big streamer is banned.
It has happened in the past that a streamer was banned from Twitch for a bad word they did not say. With “Faggot” and “Fuck It” it seems likely to have misheard something.
But there was a complex case with the LoL streamer TF Blade in 2019. The streamer slurred the word “Idiots” so badly that Twitch understood something completely different and banned him.

Especially dangerous are proper names in MMOs that are close to known insults. Anything with “N” and “A” is extremely dangerous, as one can imagine.
However, such similarities in words are also misused, and hateful language is indeed employed with the “code”:
WoW: Because they said “Naga”, several Twitch streamers were banned
