- TheDanDangler streams almost daily for about 1,000 viewers. She also has 231,000 followers on the platform.
- The last time the streamer was banned from Twitch, she requested paid sick days from the platform and received little support for it.
TheDanDangler criticizes the double standards of Twitch
Why was TheDanDangler banned? The streamer was temporarily banned from the platform due to her inappropriate outfit. The ban was supposed to last 24 hours, but Lanza immediately appealed and vented her frustration on Twitter.
What did the streamer write? TheDanDangler posted a tweet with a photo showcasing her outfit. She said: ‘I just received a ban from Twitch for this outfit, meanwhile…’ and attached a screenshot of Amouranth’s stream.
The screenshot of Amouranth showed her typically scantily clad in a bikini while for some reason reaching between her legs. TheDanDangler, on the other hand, was simply wearing leggings and a cropped top with a neckline.
The streamer finds this unfair and states that Twitch operates with a harsh double standard. While Amouranth and many other female streamers are live half-naked without facing a ban, she now has to deal with a strike and the ban.
Following this, TheDanDangler posted many more screenshots of female streamers who were live in bikinis or skimpier outfits than herself. She emphasized that she did not want the pretty girls to be banned, but she simply finds it unfair.
What does Twitch say about it? Twitch has already responded to TheDanDangler’s objection and considers itself justified: Her ban has not been lifted. They also added that further violations of the guidelines could lead to a permanent ban from the livestream platform.
The streamer directly addressed Twitch on Twitter but received no further replies. Many Twitter users are on TheDanDangler’s side and find the double standards questionable. However, since Amouranth reportedly brings Twitch a lot of money, they likely turn a blind eye more often, according to the community.
