The streamer DrDisrespect participated in a charity event around Call of Duty: Warzone. However, he lost his composure when a nasty viewer tracked him down on the map.
This was the situation: The charity event “Cracked Creators” by David “Hitch” Edwards was for $10,000, and numerous content creators and professionals from the CoD scene, who are among the top earners there, were present.
Among them were also DrDisrespect and his partner ZLaner. However, they didn’t have a good day and couldn’t win a round. The reason: They were often terrorized by stream-snipers, who were only out to eliminate the two players.
DrDisrespect expresses his anger on Twitter
This is how the stream-snipers disturbed: DrDisrespect streamed the entire tournament live. Viewers watched closely and then entered a new lobby together with the streamer. Some got lucky and were placed in the same lobby as DrDisrespect.
They then closely monitored where DrDisrespect was during the stream and literally hunted the streamer. There was hardly a round where this was not the case.
Already in the early rounds, they encountered such a stream-sniper who had eliminated DrDisrespect. The streamer reacted and said: “I will never again participate in a Warzone tournament without delay, never.”
You can see it in the livestream at minute 2:55:56:
In the end, DrDisrespect sounded really desperate: “That’s it for me today. I literally lose brain cells. […] The tournament completely took me out of the game. Lesson learned. I didn’t think it would be such a big problem… but it is a terribly big problem.”
This is what the streamer wrote on Twitter: After the tournament, DrDisrespect also took to Twitter to vent against the stream-snipers.
He described this type of gamer with some insults and summarized: “Nothing is worse than being chased by a bunch of wannabe gamers during a charity tournament while streaming.”
DrDisrespect was not alone: Not only DrDisrespect was chased by stream-snipers. Alongside him, Jack “CouRage” Dunlop was also affected. He later wrote on Twitter: “I am officially withdrawing from Warzone tournaments.”
The tournament was not the first time stream-snipers caused trouble in the Warzone. Other streamers have already been affected by such nasty players:
