Who doesn’t know it? You buy a game, but it’s completely different than expected and you have no fun at all. Steam allows you to return a game in such cases. A horror game is now taking advantage of this option and challenges its players to get a refund.
What game is it? Refund Me If You Can – here the name is the program. The developers challenge you to complete the game in less than two hours and then return it.
Refund Me If You Can is a horror game from the indie developer Sungame Studios.
If you manage to complete the challenge and finish the game in less than 2 hours, you can get the strange title along with the purchase price of €3.99 refunded on Steam.
What is the game about? In Refund Me If You Can, you play as Sarah and are trapped in a nightmare. You can only escape in one way: You have to find the exit from a maze.
The maze consists according to the Steam page of Refund Me If You Can of over 100 different paths, but only one of them leads you to the goal.
To ensure you don’t forget which path you have already taken in the maze, you can toss glow sticks that serve as markers.
“Roblox has scarier games.”
What do the players say? Refund Me If You Can only released on July 22, 2022, but already has 28 reviews on Steam that could give a first impression of the game’s quality. Overall, 75% of the reviews are positive, but opinions are still divided.
- GapSix via Steam: “No, I don’t think I’m going to do that.” – the player’s response to the challenge of returning the game
- p0fuduk via Steam: “Roblox has scarier games.”
- Elle TGC via Steam: “It’s a challenge, but it’s not fun. It’s easy to achieve, but the game is not good in the slightest. […] Also, it’s way too loud and there are no volume options.”
- TRIGEN via Steam: “The game is good and has a fun concept to reach the end in 2 hours. I probably won’t even refund it, I want to support this developer.”
What do you think of the idea of designing a game with the challenge of completing it in less than 2 hours to get a refund? Will you try to escape the maze?
Roguelites are also titles that put their players in difficult challenges and thus have their own fan base. MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus even explains to you why he is really fond of the genre.
