At the German Computer Game Award 2020 (DCP), you can cast your vote in the “Public Award” category and help your favorite games win. Additionally, there’s something to win: a Nintendo Switch. It is in high demand, especially during the current Corona situation when the Switch is often sold out.
You can vote for this award: On April 27, the German Computer Game Award will enter its 2020 round with the award ceremony. Prizes will be awarded in a total of 14 different categories – some categories are also endowed with prize money when it comes to German games:
- the “best German game” receives €100,000
- all nominated games in the “best German game” category receive €25,000
- the “best international game” is an unendowed award
You can help decide which games will win a prize, as your votes are crucial for the public award.
How can I vote? To vote for your favorite game, you must go to the official website of the German Computer Game Award:

Due to the current contact restrictions, the award ceremony this year will take place digitally via live stream.

Who was nominated? In most of the categories, German development studios, games, or personalities are nominated for things like:
- best family game
- best innovation and technology
- Player of the Year (unendowed)
3 of the 14 categories are reserved for international games. Additionally, the jury may award a special prize on April 27.

In the public award, you not only have games from German developers to choose from. You can select your favorite in the list regardless of countries or platforms.
