The Destiny 2 update 2.5.2.2 brings some small changes. One of them is particularly interesting for Title Hunters. Because now the path to the Wanderer title has become noticeably easier.
What are titles anyway? For Destiny 2, Bungie has come up with something special with Forsaken to reward players for the time they invest in the game. It is possible to earn various titles for your characters, such as Dredgen or Fluchbrecher, and display them visibly for everyone.
By mastering certain, sometimes long-term tasks, you unlock special Triumphs in thematically divided seals. Once all necessary tasks of a seal are completed, you can unlock the corresponding title associated with that seal – including the Wanderer.
However, the tasks are often aimed at passionate players, and some titles are very difficult to obtain. So you can certainly see them as a recognition of your own skill and commitment in Destiny 2.
Why is the path to the Wanderer title now easier? The Wanderer has always been considered one of the most accessible titles. However, one step was particularly annoying because it depended heavily on chance – namely the collection of Braytech schematics for the plaque “Locations: Curse of Osiris and Warmind”.
If RNG was not on your side, you might still be waiting for the right weapon drop from the Braytech weapons or have already given up in frustration.
This has changed now with update 2.5.2.2. While you are indeed depending on RNG for other plaques for this title, in the eyes of many Guardians, the frustration factor was nowhere else as high as with the Braytech weapons.

The Wanderer Title – This is now different
What exactly did update 2.5.2.2 change for the title? With update 2.5.2.2, Bungie simplifies an important quest step of the Wanderer title, making it significantly easier to obtain. Specifically, it is about the four Braytech weapons and the Braytech schematics from which you get the firearms, namely
- the scout rifle Niflheim-Frost
- the hand cannon 18 Kelvin
- the sniper rifle The Cold Jackal
- as well as the auto rifle BrayTech-Winterwolf
This is how it was before: The grind for schematics and legendary weapons for the Wanderer title was previously a very annoying task for many. Guardians were essentially solely reliant on personal loot luck – and that on multiple levels.
Initially, it was necessary to find so-called sleeper nodes. But that was not all. Once you found one of the 40 nodes, you could only hope that it would yield a schematic. These were only available randomly and only once per day.
If you were lucky and actually received a schematic from the sleeper node, you were again at the mercy of RNG-sus. Because with this schematic, you then had to go to Ana Bray, where you could only hope that the resulting Warmind engram would drop a Braytech weapon you were still missing.
Due to RNG, this could take a very long time. Some Guardians are still waiting for a missing weapon to drop for them. Accordingly, the frustration factor was very high, and many gave up in frustration.

This is how it is now: The Braytech schematics are no longer limited to one drop per day since the latest update. To obtain them, it is still necessary to open a sleeper node. However, the drop chance for a schematic has now been increased to 25%.
For the four required weapons that can be obtained from the schematics, the chance of actually getting a firearm that you still lack in your collection has also been increased.
Although the path to the Wanderer title is still associated with work and you still have to earn your badge, the journey is now noticeably easier than ever before.
What exactly do you need to do for the Wanderer title? You can find out in this guide: For Hunters and Collectors: How to Get the Wanderer Title in Destiny 2
What do you actually need to open the sleeper nodes? To open the sleeper nodes, you need four resonance stems, which you obtain from various activities on Mars. You then have to convert them into an override frequency, which allows you to open one of the 40 sleeper nodes.
Will you earn the title now or do you already own it? By the way, there is currently also a community challenge on Mars in addition to the Braytech weapons:
