Steam: The new survival MMO Nightingale relies on an open fantasy world – Delays release by several months

Nightingale is delaying its release by several months. In a video, the CEO of the development studio discusses the background.

What kind of game is this? Nightingale (PC) is an upcoming survival MMO set to launch on Steam. The title, developed by Inflexion Games, takes place in an open fantasy world styled in a Victorian aesthetic.

The setting promises to blend elements of industrialized England with fairy beings and monsters. You will explore a new world and aim to build a life there. However, dangers that threaten your life lurk everywhere in the new world.

When is the new release? Nightingale was originally set to enter early access in 2022, but the release has since been postponed to the first half of 2023.

On May 17, 2023, Inflexion Games announced that the early access release of Nightingale is being postponed once again to fall 2023.

Why is the release delayed? In a video on YouTube, Inflexion Games CEO Aaryn Flynn discussed the reasons for the delay. This allows the team to continue making progress in development while protecting the health of the developers.

The reason for the postponement of the release date is simple: The playtest process is working. The feedback we have received from players has been invaluable and the additional time
will allow us to continue the progress we have made without jeopardizing the health of our team.

What work is planned in the meantime? Aaryn Flynn also provided insights in the video about the upcoming work the team wants to tackle in the newfound time.

This includes various “Quality of Life” improvements, such as those affecting the animations of the workbench, as well as ongoing work on the so-called realms to make them as mystical as possible.

Additionally, an upgrade to the latest version of Unreal Engine is on the agenda.
