Soulmask is a new survival game on Steam, which convinced fans with the first trailer after just 15 seconds. Now you can see gameplay around masks and their abilities in the new trailer.
What game is this about? Soulmask is a new survival game on Steam by CampFire Studio, set to be released in 2024. According to the developers, a release is planned for June. However, the open beta test will start on May 1, 2024, which everyone can freely participate in.
Soulmask promises to be an “authentic survival experience” where players face the struggle for survival in nature, against hunger and thirst, and dangerous creatures. Additionally, weapon crafting and base building will be included. You can even build your own tribe.
Recently, there was a 40-hour demo, which MeinMMO editor Benedict Grothaus played for you. The latest trailer now focuses on the magical masks that equip your character with their vital survival abilities:
What does the gameplay show? After survival fans were already in love with the first trailer in January, there is finally another trailer that offers us more gameplay.
This time, the focus is on the magical masks, which not only look quite nice and impressive but also give your character important skills for the fight for survival.
Some masks and their possibilities are introduced in this trailer:
- Rich Mask: A mask that allows you to scan your surroundings to see enemies, their HP, and habits, or even control NPCs.
- Torch of Eternity: This mask allows you to equip a powerful crystal armor.
- Shadow of Walker: With this mask, you can turn invisible, allowing you to move stealthily in combat or loot chests unnoticed.
- Tactical Guidance: This mask allows you to equip an ionic armor.
- Ironblood Guard: A mask that allows you to reflect damage taken back at your enemies.
- Wilderness Mark: This mask makes you a good fighter with bow and arrow.
As seen at the beginning of the trailer, it seems you can also further improve your masks via a skill tree. However, it is not clear from the short snippet whether you unlock new abilities or just improve attributes.
In another survival game on Steam, you are not born fighters either, but use your powerful mind: A cooperative survival game on Steam will be released in May, reminiscent of Half-Life in the research lab
