A player has defeated a cheater in the new shooter The Finals with an unusual strategy centered around a flower pot .
The Finals was only released at the beginning of December, but just a few weeks later, cheaters have become a significant problem. Many players are critically reporting numerous fraudsters in their matches.
Now, players have also found a way to deal with the nasty cheaters and defeat them. And the centerpiece of this quirky strategy is an unusual weapon: a simple flower pot.
Flower pot becomes the nightmare of cheaters
How does the player outsmart the cheater? In The Finals, you can simply pick up and carry a variety of different objects. This includes chairs or flower pots that are scattered around the map as decoration.
The Reddit user EnoughCaregiver3883 has grabbed such a flower pot and attached an APS tower to it. This is a mid-level gadget in The Finals that destroys enemy projectiles like grenades within a certain radius and protects you from them.
Next, a team member attaches C4 to the flower pot – ideally someone playing the heavy class, as they can carry 2 C4s at once. The player then ran towards the cheater with this construct and blew him up with the C4.
The flower pot and the APS tower protected him from incoming fire on his way to the cheater. However, you can also use other items like a chair instead of a flower pot – they just shouldn’t be explosive.

Cheat system tricked by the flower pot
Why does it work? In his post, the Reddit user explains that he noticed that cheaters have difficulty destroying the APS towers.
In a comment, he suspects that the cheat system (for example, an aimbot) has trouble locking onto players when something else is in front of them that it cannot lock onto – like a flower pot.
So, when he holds the flower pot with the APS tower in front of him, the player’s theory suggests that the cheat system does not function as intended. Additionally, the APS tower protects him from grenades, allowing him to run directly at the player.

How does the community react? On Reddit, the community of The Finals is excited about the trick and celebrates the creativity of the player:

However, some users also mention in the comments that some cheaters can simply delete placeable objects like the C4. In that case, you would only be standing with a flower pot in front of your opponent – that could end badly.
