Five years after the release of Warhammer Vermintide 2 on Steam, the developers are looking for new game testers. This is about a new PvP mode that is supposed to come to the game.
What do we know about the PvP mode? Warhammer Vermintide 2 will soon allow the public to test the new Versus mode. The game mode is supposed to be a PvPvE mode, where two teams of four players each compete against each other. One team is supposed to play the Skaven, while the other plays the heroes of Ubersreik. After one round, the sides are supposed to switch.
The heroes try to play a nearly regular game in Adventure mode, while the Skaven try to stop the heroes from achieving their objectives and also receive support from AI opponents.
According to the Warhammer Vermintide 2 website, the mode originated during the so-called “Hack Weeks.” These are weeks where developers can dedicate themselves to their creative ideas instead of working on the main project. The mode was so well received that it was further developed, tested, and is now being released to the public.

How do I participate? In order to participate in the new test of Warhammer Vermintide 2, you simply need to have purchased the game. In previous tests, you had to apply, but the next test will be open to everyone.
However, there is one catch: The Versus mode will not be coming to consoles, only PC players will be able to experience the mode. The developers state that the reason for this is “technical limitations on the memory and network side of the consoles.”
There are several reasons for this, but mainly it is due to technical limitations on the memory and network side. Vermintide 2 was not developed with Versus in mind, and since we are adapting the game and engine specifically for PC, there are currently no good alternatives for consoles.

When is the next test supposed to start? According to the developers, the next test is supposed to start very soon. However, they have not yet revealed an exact date. It is already known that the new mode is set to be fully released this year. Currently, about 2,500-4,000 players are playing the game at peak times on Steam. Earlier, there were over 100,000.
