At the beginning of 2022, however, the zombie game was dethroned after 12 months. While no specific numbers are mentioned, it is clear: Elden Ring is now the most wished-for game on Steam.
Dying Light 2 has dropped to 2nd place. Places 3 to 5 are taken by Party Animals, God of War, and Hollow Knight: Silksong.
Elden Ring features multiplayer with co-op and PvP
What kind of game is this? Elden Ring is the latest game from FromSoftware, the developers of the equally popular and notoriously challenging “Dark Souls” series. Their newest game also focuses on intense sword fighting and tough bosses. However, the world to explore this time is open-world. The story of Elden Ring also involves George R.R. Martin – the author of “Game of Thrones”.
What is available in multiplayer? Like most of FromSoftware’s recent games, Elden Ring also features multiplayer in the form of co-op and PvP battles. The co-op is notably easier to use than in previous FromSoftware games, with fewer restrictions.
This way, you can start the co-op much more easily than in the “Dark Souls” games, and explore almost the entire open world. Fights against the difficult bosses are also possible in co-op.
Thanks to the notoriously high difficulty of the Souls makers, this co-op mode can be very useful. You can team up with up to 2 other players to tackle the dungeons and bosses.
PvP fans will also find plenty to enjoy in Elden Ring. As in the “Dark Souls” games, players can initiate invasions – or fall victim to them. With invasions, you can invade the worlds of other players to challenge them to duels or ambush them.
Players can also join factions and groups, similar to guilds in classic MMOs. This way, players of Elden Ring can find each other more easily, share information, and play against or with each other more easily.
Elden Ring will be released on February 25, 2022. You will be able to play it on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S. Alone, in co-op, or against each other in PvP.
