A new Soulslike on Steam has been exciting for a while now with its fresh concept based on Italian folklore. A new trailer now reveals the official release date.
What is this game about? Enotria is a new Soulslike that is greatly inspired by Italian folklore. Unlike most games in this genre, it opts for a less dark setting, instead taking you to colorful and sunny areas reminiscent of warm Italy.
The world and inhabitants of Enotria are trapped in an eternal game that causes an unnatural standstill. You take on the role of the “Maskless” and insert your soul into a otherwise lifeless puppet to take control.
Free from a prescribed role, you collect various masks that give you different abilities, becoming the “Mask of Change” in the fight against the eternal game.
When is it coming out? Enotria is set to release on June 21, 2024, on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
The trailer also announces a Deluxe Edition, which is said to include a DLC, various extras, skin sets, and an art book. This edition will also allow you to play the game 72 hours earlier.
What else does the trailer show? While the trailer does not showcase new gameplay, it provides insight into the lore of Enotria once again. You see the lifeless puppet into which you insert your soul hanging over ruins and opening its eyes.
Then you see how your puppet faces various enemies in combat and changes its mask to adapt to the situation. One of these enemies is a creature with enormous horns, a golden mask, and glowing eyes.
The trailer also shows you various locations that await you in Enotria. Besides ruins inspired by ancient Italy, you can also see a place that resembles a church. There, you also encounter a mysterious figure stretching its arms expectantly towards the sky.
