DayZ is a survival game on Steam that has sent players into the fight for survival for over 10 years. On Steam, the game has received 76% positive reviews since then.
The developer studio Bohemia Interactive has now announced the second official expansion for DayZ, which is set to be released in autumn 2024 on Steam. DayZ Frostline will send you into a dangerous, wintry landscape. You can get a first impression of what it will look like in the trailer:
What to expect in the expansion? As the trailer shows, you will try to survive in a frigid and snowy landscape in DayZ Frostline. The description below the trailer states that an astounding 83 km² of area awaits the players. Ice covers on lakes and rivers seem to be excluded from this.
The snowy landscape extends across several areas from forests to small residential areas. Players will face a new challenge in which they must carefully manage warmth and resources to secure their survival.
Not only the bitter cold awaits you as a new environmental hazard. It is said that you as players will experience the dangers of life near volcanic areas.
Alongside the icy landscape, harsh weather conditions, and volcanoes, new wildlife adapted to the cold will also pose a threat. You will need to hunt them not only for food but also stand your ground against them in combat.
New diseases are also waiting for you in DayZ Frostline. Additionally, an improved fishing mechanic and winter-themed cosmetics are promised. In December, DayZ will celebrate its 10th anniversary since Early Access and introduced several changes: A survival shooter is currently breaking player records on Steam – finally brings the possibility to play better with friends
