Kingmakers is an upcoming game on Steam, which has garnered some attention since its announcement. A new trailer has now been released that impressively shows what the game’s physics engine is capable of. Essential to this: a tank.
What is Kingmakers? The game by developer Redemption Road was introduced with an initial trailer in February and immediately excited players.
The second trailer also created hype and achieved around 17 million views in a short time. The interest likely lies in the unusual game concept of Kingmakers, which mixes medieval battles with modern weapons.
It looks like the player will travel from the present to the past and bring along some powerful weapons. When these hit swords, spears, and crossbows, it gets explosive. Previous trailers have already shown this.
The new one, however, takes it up a notch. Among other things, a tank drives through the medieval setting. Yes, you read that right, a tank.
Here is the new trailer:
Kingmakers shows off its impressive physics engine
What can be seen in the new trailer? While the first trailer led its viewers by the nose and began slowly, the new one does not hold back. A motorcycle races across the screen, where the character sits. Armed to the teeth, they dive into the medieval battle.
Also present is a grenade launcher that takes down parts of buildings. The game’s physics engine is demonstrated even more impressively when a tank suddenly appears and fires at distant castle towers. The shot hits, and the masonry crumbles.
The same fate awaits the residential buildings that the tank simply drives through. They collapse, which already looks very satisfying. Always present: up to 4,000 NPCs participating in the battles. There’s a lot going on on-screen. Kingmakers could become a game that puts a significant strain on PC hardware.
How is the trailer received by fans? The concept of Kingmakers seems to continue to convince the community. This time, the focus is especially on the destruction shown in the game.
Under the trailer on YouTube, players are sharing their thoughts:
- “Better destruction than in Battlefield,” writes user @TobiNoFrAg.
- “With the Abrams (tank) alone, you are a one-man army,” thinks @countdankula2081.
- “Historically accurate,” writes @user-hx5bx1lg9w with a wink.
- “I hope a demo comes out soon,” says @dmxdxl.
- “Please, bring it to consoles,” begs @vaultveteran3368.
Because Kingmakers has only been announced for PC and will be available on Steam. There is no exact release date yet.
But it should be in 2024, and the game will initially be released in Early Access. Are you excited about Kingmakers? Do you have specific wishes for the game? Let us know in the comments. Those who love the Middle Ages but prefer to build their own village instead of causing destruction should take a look at Manor Lords.
