As part of the Steam Next Fest, there was a free demo for the shooter Strinova. It was tried out by almost 15,000 players and literally adds a new dimension to the genre.
What kind of game is Strinova? It is a multiplayer hero shooter. In it, you compete against other players in 5v5 matches. You can choose from several characters with fixed roles like “Support” or “Duelist.” Each hero promotes a certain playstyle with their abilities.
Compared to other hero shooters on the market, the game from the developer studio iDreamSky stands out with its anime look. In line with this, it also provides you with a new mechanic. In Strinova, you can switch freely between a 2D and a 3D form.

What can the new mechanic do? The “Stringification” – the ability to switch between a 2D and a 3D form – opens up many tactical possibilities for you. For example, the 2D form helps you to dodge bullets. However, you cannot shoot while in this form.
In your 2D form, you stick like graffiti to walls but remain mobile. From this position, you can hide, reach higher positions, or launch a surprise attack. When you activate your 2D form in free fall, you become a parachute and slow your descent.
Successful Demo and Release Period
Is there a demo? For the Steam Next Fest, there was a playable demo of Strinova. According to SteamDB, it peaked at almost 15,000 players simultaneously. Although the demo can still be downloaded on Steam, you will be greeted with a message that it is already over.
On which platforms will Strinova be released? The game has been announced for PC on Steam and in the Epic Games Store, as well as for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and mobile devices. The developers have not yet mentioned a release period, but Strinova is expected to be released “soon.”
