The latest trailer for Helldivers 2 already announced mechs. A Reddit user claims to have found the combat robots in the game and showcases an extraordinary video.
What are mechs? Mechs are bipedal combat robots that are often heavily armed and well-armored. They were already announced in the latest trailer for Helldivers 2, and a release was announced shortly after the game’s launch. A user claims to have accidentally been in a mech and is causing a stir with his video of it.
Here you can see the trailer in which the mechs were announced.
Suddenly, a player sees mechs in a normal lobby
How did the player access the mechs? The Reddit user fozzye18 wanted to join a lobby as usual one evening and encountered a teammate who allegedly had access to the game files. The teammate was able to spawn two different mechs, which, according to the video, already looked quite finished.
According to the post creator, the mechs are said to have different weapons, one mech reportedly has a machine gun and rockets, while the other has an autocannon, which can also be seen in the video. He also shows in the video how the mech looks and how to control it and shoot with it.
The entire video appears quite credible, but you can watch it for yourself here:
What do we know about the mechs? The Reddit user Gilmore75 wrote: “The machine gun/rocket mech is the Exo 44. The autocannon mech you see in the video is the Exo 48.” The two mechs can be found in the game’s wiki where there is also another mech, the EXO-51, which, however, was not seen in the video.
Could more be seen? According to the post creator, he could see even more new things from Helldivers 2. He says: “I saw that he [the teammate] had access to their new weapons, such as an energy rocket launcher, a meteor that strikes like an atomic bomb, a group of Helldivers that you can call for support (NPCs), and more.”
It seems that the next content update may not be as far away as some thought. However, the roadmap for Helldivers 2 has recently been discarded, and the game’s director has commented on it.
