Have you ever heard of Eternal Return: Black Survival? The new mix of MOBA, survival, and battle royale is currently enjoying great success on Steam.
What is Eternal Return? In this free-to-play game, you find yourself on a mysterious island. On Lumia Island, a shady organization called AGLAIA conducted experiments on humans to create a new breed of superhumans. These now fight on the island for their survival.
- You must search for food and resources on the island like in a survival game.
- With the resources, you craft weapons and armor.
- There are up to 17 other players on the island that you must fight against.
- The battles unfold similarly to a battle royale. In the end, only one can survive.
- The game is played from a top-down angle in an anime style, which is somewhat unusual for a battle royale, but allows for MOBA-like tactics.
- You also have to defeat a boss on the map.
- At the Tree of Life, you craft legendary items that are particularly powerful.
- Later, it becomes possible to teleport across the map, leading to surprise attacks. However, you must learn this first.
Eternal Return offers a new approach to the MOBA genre
What is special about the game? You can not only play solo for the win, but also team up with other players in team modes. Whether you are playing in duo or trio, you utilize teamwork to win.
Additionally, you can create your own games and invite friends, organize tournaments, and enforce your own rules.
How well is the game received? Eternal Return has a rating of 89% in the last 30 days on Steam and an overall rating of 87%. According to Steamcharts, the average player count is 14,595 concurrent players, with peaks in recent days reaching 52,288 players.

Since when has Eternal Return been around? The game launched on October 14 without much fanfare into early access. Nevertheless, it can excite players. Although, there is a problem in Europe: the servers are not open 24/7, and there are some restrictions, making it not so easy to play here. The servers are only accessible in the evening – currently between 5:00 PM and 12:00 AM.
