A new MMORPG called Myth of Empires has been announced, which is set to be released on Steam.
What is Myth of Empires? The MMORPG places you in 3rd century China at the beginning of the Han Dynasty. You start as a nobody, but you can slowly rise to become a respected figure in the land and maybe even take the emperor’s place.
Myth of Empires is a sandbox MMORPG where you forge your own path.
- You must survive in the world, searching for food like in a survival game and crafting equipment from resources.
- You can build your own buildings and forts.
- It is possible to recruit NPCs who then work for you or whom you train into soldiers for an army.
- Cooperate with other players to wage war against other guilds.
- You participate in massive siege battles.
- It is possible to conquer and control lands.
- Diplomacy is also important. For example, you can obtain essential goods through trade.

What is special about Myth of Empires? Horses are extremely important. They not only get you from point A to B faster, but it is also possible to fight from the animals.
You can also breed and train horses. Horses are necessary for battles, as mounted combat is the focus. However, you must also equip your army with good horses.

What do you have to give up? The MMORPG Myth of Empires does not take place in a fantasy world. Consequently, there are no dragons, orcs, elves, or magic. This is how the game aims to distinguish itself from other MMORPGs that often rely on fantasy elements.

When does the MMORPG launch? Currently, there is no release date yet. However, it is expected to be released as an Early Access title on Steam at an unspecified time.

How is the game funded? The developers explain that they want to finish the game itself before discussing the monetization system. Therefore, it is still unclear whether we can expect a free-to-play, buy-to-play game, or a title with a subscription.
