Steam game turns you into a duck detective – has 97% positive ratings

In Duck Detective, you must solve a tough case. Someone is stealing breakfast – and only a real duck detective can catch the culprit.

On Steam, there are often hidden gems that fly under the radar. Games that look odd at first glance but are far more interesting than you might initially think.

One of these games is Duck Detective: The Secret Salami.

What is the game about? You are the titular Duck Detective and are called upon whenever there is an unresolved case. True to the trope of a classic detective, the Duck Detective is divorced and has a tendency to drink a bit too much every evening.

Nevertheless, you always step in when a major mystery needs solving – for example, how someone could steal lunch from an office.

Despite the cute graphics, the characters take the incidents quite seriously.

This is what the gameplay looks like: Throughout the game, you explore several offices and converse with the employees affected by the mysterious incident (who are also all animals, of course). Bit by bit, you gather new information to reconstruct the various incidents and relationships between the characters.

You’ll need to frequently check your notes and fill in the blanks with appropriate keywords in order to draw the right conclusions (“De-Duck-tions”) and hopefully catch the culprit in the end.

The voice acting is particularly praised, as well as the overall charm of the game.

How much does the game cost? Duck Detective currently costs under 9 euros on Steam and has a play time of about 2-3 hours – depending on how quickly and efficiently you proceed. It is the perfect game to enjoy casually on an evening – just like a stolen salami.
