The cute roguelite “Cult of the Lamb” was a huge hit on Steam in 2022. New content is expected early next year, but players are only focused on one thing. Now it looks like they will get their wish.
What kind of game is this? Cult of the Lamb was created from the merger of three developers who had already developed more than 50 games. The mix of dungeon crawler and management sim with the cute look of Animal Crossing became a hit on Steam in 2022.
What’s the update about? In April 2023, the developers followed up with the free DLC “Relics of the Old Faith”. On November 23, the next major update was announced via Steam. The name “Sins of the Flesh” along with the new visual, which shows the cute cultists dressed only with a leaf, made fans think of only one thing.
It turns out that a disturbingly large number of players are not satisfied with just giving their animal companions a tame kiss now and then.
The community manager, however, reassured some concerned parents: The “Sex Update” is more of a meme in the community, the age rating should not change due to the update, and you can still play the game in front of your children. Now it seems that players might indeed get their wish.
Developers demand a milestone, crack it within 2 hours
What does the current development look like? On the official Cult of the Lamb account on X, formerly Twitter, they have had fun with the rumors of a possible “Sex Update” in recent days.
On November 28, a post was finally published promising to add sex to the game if the account reaches 300,000 followers by the end of the year. An ambitious goal, as the account had 283,600 followers at that time (via Wayback Machine).
Nevertheless, it took only a few hours for this milestone to be reached. How exactly the developers want to introduce the “Sins of the Flesh” into the game is still unclear, but it is planned for early 2024. This period is also meant for the expansion “Sins of the Flesh”, which is to deliver new features and story elements alongside this important innovation.
In the coming weeks, there will also be teasers in which the developers want to reveal more about the upcoming content.
