On Steam, the “Always-Good-Festival” is running for a few more days. Here, games are celebrated that you can play over and over again, and we will briefly introduce three of them.
The “Always-Good-Festival” currently presents many different games on Steam that are great to play repeatedly because of their concepts and genres. This includes many roguelikes, turn-based games, and building games.
The festival runs until May 20, 2024, and offers limited-time deals in addition to some demos. We have selected three games with demos that you might not know yet but should not miss.
Realm of Ink
What kind of game is this? Realm of Ink is an action roguelite game on Steam that impresses with its unique and charming graphics from the very first glance. The landscapes and characters are designed in a “ink style” that recalls ancient Chinese drawings, fitting to its name.
You play as a swordsman named Red, who eventually realizes that he is merely a fictional character in the Realm of Ink. As you journey through this world, you will gradually unlock more characters.
The game reminds one of the Steam hit Hades, but it is set in a world inspired by Chinese mythology. Here, too, you receive support from various gods in battle. In classic roguelite fashion, each run will feel different thanks to various weapons, abilities, and buffs.
BattleJuice Alchemist
What kind of game is this? BattleJuice Alchemist is the role-playing game of an indie developer that is currently in Early Access on Steam. You play as an alchemist who has been called upon to fight nasty demons. As an alchemist, you cannot rely on your muscle strength, but must rely on your knowledge and skills.
The game promises a ranged combat experience in the classic top-down perspective. You throw explosive or freezing potions, set ambushes with explosive barrels, or use potions to escape danger. In close combat, you must primarily rely on your potions, so you should manage your resources carefully.
Outpath
What kind of game is this? Outpath is a building game that was released on Steam in October 2023 and has since received 95% extremely positive reviews. Fans of games like Satisfactory, Forager, or the pixel art style of Minecraft should check out the demo of Outpath. The solo developer promises “motivating gameplay like in clicker and idle games”.
In Outpath, you then utilize the resources from various islands to build yourself a large base. You can not only build and decorate this base according to your own ideas but also automate it over time.
You can also expand your base to several islands and connect them with various machines and cables over longer distances. However, you as a player must first purchase the various and new islands. For this, you use the in-game currency that you receive for every action in the game.
