Counter-Strike 2 is set to be released in summer 2023, but even during the testing phase, one mode is causing a lot of frustration among players.
Which mode is it? The Deathmatch mode is part of the daily in-game routine for many “Counter-Strike” players. In it, players engage in numerous consecutive gunfights that are not disrupted by long respawn timers or bomb defusions.
Players start a Deathmatch round, exchanging shots and warming up without the looming loss of Elo. That’s why the Deathmatch mode has been appreciated for years. It is indispensable in CS:GO and will also have its well-deserved place in CS2.
Players criticize spawns
Why does the mode drive players insane? Some players criticize on Reddit that the spawns in CS2 Deathmatch are “really bad”.
A Reddit user writes: “It [CS2 Deathmatch] constantly spawns with enemies behind you or in 1v2 or even 1v3 situations. You almost never have a spawn without an enemy just out of sight in the first second.”
In the comments, the player receives agreement from other users: “Every time I spawn, an opponent is ready to kill me, and I die immediately unless I abuse the spawn protection and look around.”
Another user lists what bothers him: “Bad spawns, spawn protection (which is way too long), no ammo after a kill, no health/armor gain after a kill, way too long waiting time between spawns.”
What is the current state of CS2? Valve continues to work tirelessly on the release of Counter-Strike 2, which was planned for summer 2023.
In the meantime, significantly more players have gained access to the beta test and have been able to spend some hours in the CS:GO successor. Alongside the Deathmatch mode, it has also received additional maps like Mirage, Vertigo, and Inferno.
