What kind of game is Starfield? Starfield is a futuristic RPG by Bethesda that takes place 20 years after a colonial conflict that occurred in 2310 between two major factions.
- Starfield will be released on September 6, 2023, and will already be available at launch for Xbox Game Pass.
- It will not have multiplayer and is announced as a pure single-player game.
- Many fans are already discussing whether Starfield can surpass one of the best role-playing games of all time.
Currently, screenshots that were posted on a Discord server are also being discussed. The images show a weapon that many players find familiar.

What kind of screenshots are these? On his Discord server, Idle Sloth, who refers to himself on Twitter as “Xbox News Guy”, shows two images that apparently come from Starfield. These screenshots have been referenced on Twitter and Reddit.

What kind of weapon is this? The weapon that the player character holds looks like an AK-47. A Soviet assault rifle developed by the Russian gunsmith Mikhail Kalashnikov. You encounter it often in shooters like Call of Duty, Counterstrike, or Battlefield.
“I think it always requires a sensitive balance between realism, simulation, and Hollywood,” notes Tim Lamb, the producer of Starfield (via Jeux vidéo). Thus, it is not surprising to use a modern version of the AK-47 in this setting as well.

What does the community say about the weapon? In another post on Reddit, the weapon shown is taken up by many users. The post by u/Neosss1995 in the subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumours currently has over 100 comments. TachankaIsTheBest writes: “An AK… interesting” (via Reddit) and receives over 230 upvotes for it.
Look_A_Zombie0 writes: “Even in 2330, people still use AKs. That’s really impressive in terms of reliability” (via Reddit). “They are also seen in the Halo TV series, thus extending the AK’s story to the year 2552,” responds dovahbe4r.
