What is Starfield? A new sci-fi RPG from Bethesda and the first new game universe from the developer studio in over 20 years. It follows in the footsteps of gaming giants like Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Fallout 4, but brings its own charm.
Starfield will be released on PC (Steam / Xbox App) and for the Xbox Series X|S, but not for the PS5 – even though it almost became an exclusive title for PlayStation.
What does Starfield cost? The standard edition starts at 69.99 euros on PC and 79.99 euros for Xbox Series. However, Starfield will also be available on release in the Xbox Game Pass. Check here for all information on the editions.
When is the release? Starfield will be released in two stages. The early access starts on September 1:
- Early access: September 1 at 2 AM
- Full release: September 6 at 2 AM
How do you get into early access? For that, you need at least the premium edition – which costs 109.99 euros in the Xbox App and for Xbox Series X/S and 99.99 euros on Steam. You can save money with an upgrade of the version in the Xbox Game Pass. Here more about early access.
What do you need to know about the download? You need about 125 GB for the download and the system requirements for Starfield strictly require an SSD drive. The preload is already online.
What can you do in Starfield? If you know one of the big Bethesda games like Skyrim, you can roughly expect something similar: a lot of freedom, many exciting stories, and vast areas to explore.
You create a character and set off into space with your ship. Shipbuilding will also play a big role and you can also hire companions and crew members.
