If you want to mine ores like iron and aluminum twice as fast in Starfield, a simple trick can save you time.
Already in the first seconds of Starfield, the game gives you the “Cutter,” a mining laser, and wants you to mine resources. The various ores that you can farm with the laser will be needed again and again – for example, when building an outpost or crafting certain objects.
Those exploring the planets in Starfield will sooner or later find themselves in front of some ores with the laser and will mine them. You can save time by following a simple trick.
A single button saves you time while farming
How can you mine ores twice as fast? You can mine ores much faster with a charged laser beam than when using the normal firing mode.
Once you have equipped the mining laser, do not shoot immediately, but first press the right mouse button (Mouse 2) or LT on your Xbox controller – the button you use to aim with firearms.
By pressing the aim button, the three outer bars of the crosshair move inward and close the gaps. Once the bars are as far in the middle as possible, your laser beam is charged and has increased power.
While the laser beam is red in normal firing mode, it turns yellow-orange when charged and fired. It then appears significantly more powerful and energetic, allowing you to farm resources in seconds – a small but simple trick that saves time and is easy to overlook.
