This evening, on June 11th, there will be a showcase from Bethesda and Xbox. One of the biggest games of the year 2023, the SF role-playing game Starfield, is set to be presented. In advance, there is now a leak about versions and prices of Starfield. The enormous price of €300 for the Collector’s Edition has caused mockery and derision towards Bethesda.
This is what the leak says: The site Dealabs has published a leak. One of their authors, Billbil-kun, is considered a reliable leaker.
According to the site’s information, Starfield will come in 3 versions:
- A Standard Edition – €70 for PC, €80 for Xbox Series X/S
- A Premium Edition – €105 for PC, €115 for Xbox (where the prices are not yet confirmed)
- The “Constellation Edition” – PC €300, Xbox Series X/S €300
It is said that the Constellation Edition is the Collector’s Edition of Starfield and it will only be available in physical format, not as a download.
Fans mock previous Collector’s Edition mistakes by Bethesda
How is this being discussed? On Reddit, there isn’t much discussion about the absurdly high price, but speculation is taking place about what Bethesda might include in the Collector’s Edition of Starfield to justify such a high price. Bethesda’s “special editions” have sparked discussions in the past.
Previous special editions from Bethesda included statues or even helmets. Now, there is ironic speculation on Reddit about a Starfield helmet.
One person mockingly says he hopes the helmet is made of a very rare material like canvas – referencing a major controversy surrounding Fallout 76.
At the release of Fallout 76, Bethesda promised a bag made of high-quality canvas, but it turned out to be made of nylon because “canvas” was allegedly no longer available.
This was a major topic for months in 2019. Bethesda was mocked for claiming that there was no canvas available on the entire planet. Apparently, there was a global shortage. It was a symbolic discussion:
- Just as Bethesda had used cheap nylon instead of high-quality material
- Fallout 76 was also viewed as inferior in quality compared to Fallout 3 and 4
Others are now joking about the price of Starfield, wondering if there might be a whiskey in a plastic bottle included.
When will we learn more? Today, on June 11th, there is an “Xbox Games Showcase” followed by a Starfield Direct. The event starts at 7 PM. We will cover it on MeinMMO.
According to the leak, the versions will be presented there. If that is the case, we will surely also learn what is included in the Collector’s Edition.
A watch is the special goodie of the edition
Update June 11, 10:20 PM: Bethesda has now revealed the content of the “Constellation Edition”. A watch and a steel case are the special gimmicks of the edition.
Players will receive early access to Starfield up to 5 days earlier and the following bonuses in-game:
- Laser Cutter
- Deep Mining Helmet
- Deep Mining Pack
These goodies come with the version:
- Starfield Base Game
- Shattered Space Story Expansion (at release)
- Constellation Skin Pack: Equinox Laser Rifle, Spacesuit, Helmet and Boost Pack
- Access to Starfield Digital Artbook & Original Soundtrack

No price has been set for the edition yet, but €300 seems likely.
The special feature of the edition is apparently the watch, which was also prominently displayed at the showcase.
