Is Blizzard revitalizing the strategy classic StarCraft? Several sources are telling of an HD remake.

We are already in the month of August and slowly the first hints are starting to appear regarding what Blizzard might have planned for this year’s BlizzCon in November. As reported by a Korean news site, the game studio is apparently working on an HD remake of the classic StarCraft.
According to Kotaku, which in turn refers to the website iNews24, Blizzard intends to announce the remake in September before further news is released at BlizzCon. Several sources report that the remake will feature polished graphics and some interface improvements. The game itself and especially the challenging difficulty – as compared to today’s games – should remain intact.
But why should Blizzard do this now? Especially in Korea, the original StarCraft still ranks among the top 10 most popular games in PC Bangs, making an HD overhaul almost overdue. As soon as there are news about it, we will keep you updated.
