One of the biggest criticisms of the shooter Star Wars: Battlefront is the lack of a singleplayer campaign. Here there will soon be at least some relief.
Although DICE and Electronic Arts are not delivering the singleplayer campaign, the game will receive an offline singleplayer mode. Starting from July 20th, you will face bots in a Skirmish mode with multiple missions. The singleplayer mode will include the well-known game modes Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron. However, you will not be playing against human players, but against computer-controlled opponents.
More to do for single player fans
Apparently, there will also be a coop variant of the mode for the console versions of the game, which can be played in split-screen. You can experience the game modes Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron as usual on various planets, including the ice planet Hoth and the volcanic world Sullust. DICE and Electronic Arts state that with Skirmish they want to respond to player feedback and provide them with more offline modes as desired.
This could also be an indication that they have taken the criticism of the missing campaign to heart and are preparing one for the upcoming second part of Star Wars: Battlefront. However, this is not certain yet. Moreover, this September the DLC Death Star will be released for season pass holders. This will bring new maps, two new heroes, new weapons, and additional star cards. One of the heroes is said to be a very special character that fans have been waiting for a long time.
