The online shooter Star Wars Battlefront seems to become a Playstation 4 phenomenon. More people are playing on Sony’s console than on Xbox One and PC combined.
We currently do not know what the sales figures are, but an evaluation of the online numbers speaks a clear language: The active players on the Playstation 4 are stronger than those on PC and Xbox One, even when combined.
The stat-tracking site Battlefront-Stats shows this repeatedly. Currently (Monday 10:00 AM), 11,000 people are playing on PC, 22,000 on Xbox One, and 56,000 on Playstation 4.
The peak numbers within the last 24 hours tell a similar story. 48,000 on PC, 105,000 on Xbox One, and 183,000 on Playstation 4.
Sony had specifically advertised Star Wars Battlefront in TV commercials, fully relying on the nostalgia factor. Apparently, successfully.
Does Fallout 4 have more players than Star Wars: Battlefront?
By the way: According to the figures from Steam, the Battlefront numbers fade in comparison to those of Fallout 4. Over the weekend, Fallout 4 had a record high of 471,995 players at the same time – and that only on PC. Battlefront’s peak number, according to the stat-tracking site, was over all platforms at 336,614. However, this does not necessarily mean that Fallout 4 has more players spread throughout the day. This difference could also be explained by the fact that Star Wars Battlefront is consumed in small doses while Fallout 4 is played for longer sessions, resulting in clustering.
