The upcoming multiplayer blockbuster Star Wars: Battlefront has already faced heavy criticism before release, as the initial content apparently falls far short of that of its predecessors.
Eight maps, four planets, no space battles, only the classic film trilogy as the scenario and no controllable AT-ATs… Star Wars and especially Battlefront fans expressed disappointment over the announcement of the online game Star Wars: Battlefront. The developers are trying to defend themselves, even stating that there are now twelve instead of eight maps – and there could be more to the game than meets the eye.
Well, you won’t be able to fully control AT-ATs, but you can control the smaller AT-ST walker. This has now been confirmed by Dice’s Community Manager Mathew Everett. In the current version, this would be a hell of a lot of fun, just like the missions that you can experience in single-player mode.

Recently, the lava planet Sullust was introduced, where there will be some battles to engage in. Here, players will encounter special stormtroopers. When asked if the maps in the game would only be outdoor areas, the answer was that there will also be indoor areas. Presumably, some maps will also take place in bases or on space stations. Currently, it seems that a new game mode is being tested internally, in which thermal detonators will play an important role. By the way, it is also possible to pilot X-Wing fighters – so far only on planetary surfaces.

Dice and Electronic Arts also announced that supplies in terms of maps for Star Wars: Battlefront can be expected as early as December. Then the free DLC “Battle of Jakku” will be released. And by the release on November 17, they intend to pull a few more aces out of their sleeves. Maybe the game won’t be the total disappointment everyone fears. Developers and publisher are certainly convinced of the game’s success and expect 9 to 10 million copies sold.
