The launch of the online shooter Star Wars: Battlefront is getting closer. DICE and Electronic Arts have now announced more information including new game modes.
The open beta of Star Wars: Battlefront ends today and has excited many gamers about the game, who are now naturally wondering what else to expect in the shooter. Therefore, DICE and Electronic Arts have announced three new game modes! These are “Hero Hunt”, “Cargo”, and “Droid Run”.
Three new modes!
In “Hero Hunt” one player takes on the role of a well-known Star Wars hero and is hunted by seven pursuers. Depending on whether the hero belongs to the Rebels or the Empire, the pursuers are on the opposing side. They must try to take down the hero before time runs out.
“Cargo” is a kind of “Capture-the-Flag” mode. Both the Rebels and the Empire have a base on the map containing valuable cargo. Players invade the enemy base to steal this cargo and bring it back to their base within 15 minutes, while also having to protect their own cargo.
In “Droid Run” players must capture three “GNK droids” that are moving around the map. Six versus six players try to catch all the droids within ten minutes.
The Season Pass is coming!
Moreover, EA and DICE have announced that they will offer a Season Pass for Star Wars: Battlefront. This grants access to the four planned expansions that will be released in the future for the online shooter. These expansions are said to bring new content, more details about which are yet to be revealed.
Additionally, the Season Pass grants a two-week head start for the expansions and includes the “Shoot First” emote. The price for the Season Pass is stated to be around 50 Euros for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The DLCs are expected to cost 15 Euros each.
Also, the Ultimate Edition of Star Wars: Battlefront has been announced. This includes the Deluxe Edition plus the Season Pass as well as a victory emote, a shock emote, Han Solo’s blaster, an ion grenade, and an ion torpedo. The price for the Ultimate Edition (as a download) is currently listed at Origin for 119.98 Euros. Star Wars: Battlefront seems to be launching on November 19.
