Star Wars Battlefront: Free update brings spectator mode, rank cap 60, Hutt contracts

If you own a Season Pass for the online shooter Star Wars Battlefront, you can dive into the battles of the Outer Rim DLC today. For everyone else, there is at least a free update.

The servers of the shooter are now being gradually taken down. Downtimes will be between 9 AM (PC), 11 AM (PlayStation 4), and 1 PM (Xbox One). Everything should be back up by 3 PM, and then Season Pass owners can check out the content of the Outer Rim DLC.

New Battlefields

While you shouldn’t expect new planets, you can now fight in Jabba’s Palace and in the hangar of the Hutt’s sail barge on Tatooine. Additionally, an smelting plant awaits you on the planet Sullust. On this planet, you can also engage in battles at pipelines and on platforms. This promises new, exciting confrontations. The new heroes available to you are the bounty hunter Greedo and the rebel pilot Nien Nunb. With these heroes, you can head straight into the fights on the new maps.

New Mode and New Weapons

Of course, Battlefront fans are already looking forward to the fresh gameplay mode “Transport.” In this mode, you are in the Outer Rim and must try to reach an extraction point with your collected resources on the side of the Rebels. The players of the Empire are supposed to prevent this. Of course, new weapons will also find their way into the game. These include the Relby-v10 rifle and the DT-12 blaster pistol. Among the star cards, you will be able to collect the “Scatter Gun,” the “Dioxis Grenade,” and the “Adrenaline Stimulator.”

A Free Update for Everyone is Also Coming Today

But not only the DLC is arriving today, but also an update for everyone that brings numerous innovations.

Especially interesting: The rank cap is rising from 50 to 60. Today, there will be both a spectator mode, as well as the Hutt Contracts. This is a new way to obtain weapons and star cards.
