The multiplayer shooter Star Wars Battlefront is set to be released in November, ahead of which there has already been a lot of criticism. One developer feels unfairly treated by the gaming press, claiming the game has been misrepresented.
The lead level designer Dennis Bränvall believes that Star Wars Battlefront is being treated unfairly by the gaming media. Although he loves the media, he says, “these rage-clicks hurt my soul.” This likely refers to coverage meant to make players angry about the game, encouraging them to read the articles and watch the videos.
I love you gaming media, but the rage-clicks. They hurt my soul! 🙁

The media tried to give the announcements a negative twist, as Bränvall explains in a series of tweets.
- At DICE, they announced: “We are relying on the partnership system.” The media twisted this into: “They removed the squads!”
- DICE says: “We have offline missions with bots as opponents.” The media: “They have no campaign!”
- DICE: “You can both fire from the hip and use scopes.” Media: “No ironsights, no aiming down sights!”
With the negative mood among some parts of the fans we address in this article, we think it is due to the feature-rich predecessor from ten years ago. Why all this criticism shouldn’t diminish the game’s success, at least according to analysts and EA, we show in these articles.
