In the upcoming multiplayer shooter Star Wars Battlefront, a new concept has been devised to inform players how the battle is progressing.
Scoring points is old news; crashing Star Destroyers are the new thing. On the sidelines of E3, DICE’s General Manager, Patrick Bach, introduced a new concept for Star Wars Battlefront, called “Battle Beyond.” Depending on how the battle on the “ground” is going, the entire atmosphere of the game changes.
Depending on which side is leading and seems likely to win, the environment changes. If the Rebel Alliance is ahead on Tatooine, a Star Destroyer might crash to the ground like a fireball. Such events have been prepared for the different planets.
No blinking parts are needed on the interface; instead, the world provides hints about the course of the battle.
