In the coming months, the Clone Wars will come to Star Wars Battlefront II. A corresponding roadmap has now been released, showing that the Clone Wars update will be served in stages until the coming winter. Many fans are therefore angry and disappointed.
At E3 2018, EA announced that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will receive the Clone Wars demanded by many fans along with new game modes, characters, and gameplay changes in the coming months.

A first development roadmap has now been published. It shows that the Clone Wars content will stretch over the rest of 2018, with some content not expected until the coming winter – whether in December 2018 or possibly only in January or February 2019 is still unclear.
Roadmap presented – Here’s what’s next for Star Wars Battlefront II
Summer 2018: As can be seen from the roadmap, some Clone Wars content will be released this summer.
- In July, a new 4vs4 PvP starfighter mode and some gameplay improvements, such as the ability to activate or deactivate the lightsaber at will, will be introduced.
- In August, the Clone Trooper skins, new emotes, and victory poses will arrive.
Autumn 2018:
In autumn, further Clone Wars content is expected to follow. This will include:
- Two new heroes: Obi-Wan and General Grievous
- An improved squad system
- A new large mode
- New hero and Clone Trooper skins
Winter 2018(/2019?):
The last Clone Wars content is planned for the coming winter. It is uncertain whether it will be released in December 2018 or only in January or even February 2019. Here’s what fans can expect in the final push:
- Two new heroes: Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku
- A new location: Geonosis, where the Clone Wars began
- New hero and Clone Trooper skins

DICE and EA are continually working on matchmaking, daily challenges, map rotation, balance, and bug fixes. The roadmap is not final. Potential additional content and further features will be addressed in future roadmap updates.
Fans are disappointed – This is how the community reacts
Fans have largely reacted disappointed and upset to the published roadmap for Star Wars Battlefront 2. This is evident from numerous comments on social media, Reddit, and other forums.
While there are indeed players who are looking forward to the upcoming content, the majority of upset fans criticize the elongated presentation of the limited content.
Hardly anyone understands why the content isn’t being released in a single update and why it took so long to provide just a few new heroes and a map. Particularly the fact that fans have to wait until winter for some of the most anticipated characters and the Geonosis map is frustrating for many.
What do you think of this schedule? Can you wait until winter?
