Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PC, Xbox One & PS4) receives a major update with Update 1.2 featuring many new elements, including an additional game mode called “Jetpack Cargo.” Here are the patch notes.
Patch 1.2 for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was released on February 19, 2018, for all platforms. The major update brought a lot of features, balance adjustments, and bug fixes.
Additionally, there is finally a new game mode that focuses on particularly fast and explosive PvP rounds.
Jetpack Cargo – A Different Kind of Rocket Jump!
In the new game mode Jetpack Cargo, you essentially play the classic Capture the Flag. You need to steal a cargo crate from the enemy base and bring it to your side. So far, so familiar.
The new mode gives everyone a jetpack and a rocket launcher. It becomes explosive and fast-paced as many players soar through the skies simultaneously and let rockets rain down.
However, the new game mode will only be playable for a limited time, so take the opportunity!
More Maps for Arcade and Hero Balancing
If you enjoy playing the Arcade mode, you can look forward to new maps like Kashyyyk, Hoth, Endor, Crait, Jakku, and Death Star II. Additionally, the AI in Arcade mode has become a bit smarter.
On the other hand, if you enjoy playing heroes, you’ll be happy to see numerous adjustments. Many characters received buffs and improvements, while some received nerfs. For instance, Boba Fett becomes even more agile with his jetpack, and Kylo Ren has shorter cooldowns.
Darth Vader gains a health bonus when he gets angry, and the Emperor can only wound players through his aura if he can actually see them. Many fans found it frustrating to suddenly take damage out of nowhere because the Emperor was lurking in another room.
Update 1.2 – A Wealth of Changes
In addition to these major updates, there are a lot of other fixes and adjustments in Patch 1.2 of Battlefront II. These include:
- Changes to classes, reinforcements, and the combat system
- Milestones are being revised
- Balance adjustments regarding level design
- Bug fixes concerning level design
- More credits from duplicates in loot boxes
- General improvements and bug fixes
