Dice and Electronic Arts have released a new update for the online shooter Star Wars Battlefront 2. With this, you gain access to all heroes and do not have to unlock them first.
The loot box debate has taken a toll on Electronic Arts, which is why the entire system for Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been overhauled. With the new update, the new progression system has been introduced. While the boxes still exist, they now only contain credits and cosmetic items.

All heroes are unlocked
Another new feature of the update is the fact that all heroes and hero vehicles are already unlocked. Previously, players had to invest quite some time to obtain heroes. Now, you simply log into the game and can choose the heroes you want when you earn enough points in a match to switch to a hero.
Also new are:
- Cloud City from Bespin as a map for the Blast mode, Heroes vs. Villains, and the Arcade mode
- Every Star Card is unlocked in Arcade mode, so you can try them out to experiment with loadouts
- Star Cards are no longer part of the loot boxes and must now be earned

Microtransactions are coming back soon
Starting in April, the microtransactions will be reintroduced. With real money, you will buy crystals, which you will use to acquire cosmetic items like skins. However, these skins can also be obtained through in-game credits. In addition, the update introduces several balancing optimizations.
EA and Dice want to do better this time with the microtransactions of Star Wars Battlefront 2.
